Private Cloud Services
Our Private Cloud Services are designed for clients to have their applications run in a safe and reliable cloud environment while increasing collaboration and allowing for continued growth.
A well-maintained cloud hosting service gives you remote access to your files while also taking a large amount of the memory burden off your in-house computers and devices. Everything you need is accessible anywhere with internet access. Our cloud computing services take care of the storage and maintenance as well so you don’t have to.
Private cloud storage works much like public cloud storage and implements storage virtualization across an organization, providing a centralized storage infrastructure that can only be accessed by the authorized nodes.
Private cloud storage operates by installing a data center, which houses a series of storage clusters that are integrated with a storage virtualization application. Administrative policies and a management console provide access to the different storage nodes and applications within the organization’s network. The applications or nodes access the private storage through file access and data retrieving protocols, while the automated storage administrator application allocates storage capacity to them on run time.
Private cloud storage has a multitenant architecture, where a single storage array can house storage space to multiple applications, nodes or departments.
Cloud backup is a type of service through which cloud computing resources and infrastructure are used to create, edit, manage and restore data, services or application backup. This is done remotely over the internet.
Cloud backup may also be called online backup or remote backup.
Cloud backup is primarily used on an individual’s or organization’s data via an offsite and remote cloud storage platform. Cloud backup works when a cloud backup provider allocates cloud storage that is accessible globally over the Internet or backup software via a purpose-built user interface or vendor API. Cloud backup storage can be used to virtually store and back up all types of data or applications. Unlike traditional backup techniques, cloud backup is highly flexible and scalable in scaling up and down on run time.
Cloud backup is a managed service where the entire infrastructure and supporting services are managed completely by the vendor. Besides data backup, cloud backup is combined with disaster recovery solutions and may also provide an exact instance of a server, desktop or entire system.
A virtual machine (VM) is a software program or operating system that not only exhibits the behavior of a separate computer, but is also capable of performing tasks such as running applications and programs like a separate computer. A virtual machine, usually known as a guest is created within another computing environment referred as a “host.” Multiple virtual machines can exist within a single host at one time.
Virtual machines are becoming more common with the evolution of virtualization technology. Virtual machines are often created to perform certain tasks that are different than tasks performed in a host environment.
Virtual machines are implemented by software emulation methods or hardware virtualization techniques. Depending on their use and level of correspondence to any physical computer, virtual machines can be divided into two categories:
- System Virtual Machines: A system platform that supports the sharing of the host computer’s physical resources between multiple virtual machines, each running with its own copy of the operating system. The virtualization technique is provided by a software layer known as a hypervisor, which can run either on bare hardware or on top of an operating system.
- Process Virtual Machine: Designed to provide a platform-independent programming environment that masks the information of the underlying hardware or operating system and allows program execution to take place in the same way on any given platform.
Some of the advantages of a virtual machine include:
- Allows multiple operating system environments on a single physical computer without any intervention
- Virtual machines are widely available and are easy to manage and maintain.
- Offers application provisioning and disaster recovery options
Some of the drawbacks of virtual machines include:
- They are not as efficient as a physical computer because the hardware resources are distributed in an indirect way.
- Multiple VMs running on a single physical machine can deliver unstable performance
Storage area network (SAN) management refers to the collective measures, processes, tools and technologies that enable the operation, administration and maintenance of a SAN infrastructure.
It is a broad term that utilizes a layered approach that starts from the lower hardware level to the top software level in managing and maintaining a SAN infrastructure.
SAN management is generally performed through a central location, usually in the form of a SAN management application or a SAN server. This enables a central interface to allocate, manage and monitor storage. SAN management also includes monitoring the utilization of SAN resources, resolving issues, ensuring security and optimizing operations for best performance.
SAN management may also include:
- Planning for future expansion
- Capacity management
- Support for virtualization/cloud use
- Infrastructure management
- Creating and managing RAID levels
- LUN mapping
- Usage monitoring
- Backup management
Remote file sharing (RFS) is a type of distributed file system technology that enables file and/or data access to multiple remote users over the Internet or a network connection. It was developed in 1980 by AT&T and first released with UNIX System version V (five).
RFS is also known as a general process of providing remote user access to locally stored files and/or data.
RFS works as a typical distributed file system, where local hosts access files and data stored on a network storage device or the RFS server. RFS works on any network protocol or an underlying network’s base communication protocol. It is only used on UNIX based computers, systems and network stacks/protocols.
The entire file sharing operation is maintained by the RFS server, which also tracks file-level detail, such as the number of times a file is accessed, modified and locked.
